For students and employees at Østfold University College.

Autodesk (For Engineering and Information Technology)

Autodesk offers free versions of many of its programs. You can download Maya, Autocad and more.


Canvas

Canvas is the learning platform used by students and staff at HiØ.


Google-account

Some courses use different Google services in teaching,  a user account has been created that is linked to students and staffs FEIDE user.


GPT UiO

GPT UiO is the preferred AI tool for staff and students at Østfold University College. The tool provides access to ChatGPT-like functionality and is built on the basis of models from OpenAI, but safeguards the privacy of users. Employees and students log on to GPT UiO via FEIDE.


Granta (For Information Technology)

Granta is installed from HiØ's program area.


Jetbrains (Information Technology)

Jetbrains has a number of development tools for eg. Java, C / C ++, Python, PHP, and Javascript. This is free for students and staff at Østfold University College as long as you register with your FEIDE e-mail address.


MATLAB

MATLAB is a comprehensive math program with its own scripting language. With MATLAB you can manipulate matrices, plot functions, and data, create user interfaces etc. The program is one of the most widely used mathematical software among engineers.
 


Microsoft Copilot with Bing

Microsoft Copilot with Bing (Copilot) is one of the permitted AI tools for staff and students at Østfold University College. Copilot is a tool developed and made available by Microsoft, Østfold University College has access to the Enterprise version of this tool.


Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration platform that can be used for electronic meetings, group work, small group teaching, remote assistance, file sharing, and chat. It is available for students, staff, and external.

 


Nettskjema

Nettskjema (Webform) is the University's tool for surveying, enrolling, and collecting data in a secure way.


Nettskjema diktafon app for mobile (Audio recording)

Nettskjema Diktafon is an app for recording interviews and other sensitive material, where the recording is handled in a safe manner.
 


Ninite

Many freeware programs can be downloaded via Ninite. There's browsers, audio and video programs, and other useful tools.

NOA - attendance app

NOA – notice of attendance is the app for digital attendance registration in education at HiØ, where you as a student check yourself in on your lectures. Your check-in is registered directly to the lecturer's class list and you get a complete overview of your schedule and attendance.


Office365

With Office365, you can store your files in OneDrive and use the Office suite locally or in the cloud. Students also read their email in Office 365.


Safe Exam Browser

Safe Exam Browser is used when conducting digital exams. The program is downloaded via the DEMO exam by logging into Inspera.

XMLSpy

Østfold University College is an Education Partner with Altova. Students and staff, therefore, have free access to eg. XMLSpy for use in teaching.
 


Zoom

We use Zoom for online teaching, co-creating, and collaborating in groups, courses, oral assignments, oral exams, and meetings. Employees and students are logged in with FEIDE. Links to Zoom online teaching are found in your Canvas rooms.

Panopto is the university's new video system which is integrated into Canvas. It enables students and teachers to record and then upload the content directly to Canvas.


Zotero (the new EndNote)

Zotero is used to handle references professionally in your written work. To download Zotero you need a user account from HiØ..

TaskCards

TaskCards is a virtual interactive whiteboard that can be used for, among other things, co-writing, group work, brainstorming or as a digital learning resource.
