About the Project
Purpose: The KidsLikeUs project supports the social wellbeing of the Baltic Sea Region (BSR) citizens by bringing people together, reinforcing integration & inclusion.
Aim: The Design and Development of a Sensory Superhero Garden and eBook

The Superhero sensory garden will showcase selected ideas of physical elements that address all senses with the aim of improving citizens’ social wellbeing, societal integration, cultivation of respect to nature, and promoting empathy.

Through engaging citizens in the development of the sensory garden, it will encourage the creation of social relationships regardless of cultural background, language, abilities and disabilities.

From the Superhero sensory garden, an e-book will be created, which will include the photos, drawings, visualizations of physical prototypes.

The purpose of the ebook is to inspire and disseminate the knowledge generated from the Superhero sensory garden internationally. The project wishes to raise recognition of the mindfulness spaces in the BSR and the positive effects it has to the resilience with those with trauma and mental health challenges.
Social Impact

Through designing and developing a sensory Superhero garden and ebook, these tools will be given to occupational therapists, healthcare personnel and educators to encourage physical activity, relaxation and development of mindfulness as well as raise awareness of sense friendliness and its importance with addressing mental health challenges.

Goal
The sensory tools developed will be created for municipalities, schools, public institutions & NGOs working with children & youths.
