Ph.D. Project

Recently, I completed my Ph.D. research and submitted my dissertation titled 'Teaching and Learning in an Institutional Massive Open Online Course: Implications for Agency in Online Pedagogy.' The dissertation delves into both synchronous and asynchronous collaborative teaching and learning activities in the ICTPED MOOC to analyze how instructors and students develop and enact their agency in online pedagogical contexts. The primary findings suggest that collaborative meaning-making activities serve as unique resources for the cultivation of agency, and that the mobilization of digital resources broadens the opportunities for such development. These findings have significant implications for the design of online teaching and learning environments where both instructors and students can develop and enact their agency to advance conceptual understanding. Main supervior is Professor and Dean Irina Engeness.
