Bakgrunn/Background

I am a senior policy advisor at the Association of Social Scientists (Samfunnsviterne) in Norway and a professor ll (20%) at University College Østfold. Earlier, I was a professor in the business  administration department at Bifrost University in Iceland and a senior researcher at University of Iceland and Fafo. From 2009 to 2013, I was a member of the Icelandic parliament and chaired the business and the finance sector committee and the Icelandic Delegation to the Council of Europe.

Utdanning/Education

1993- 1999 Doctor of Philosophy (D.Phil) from the University of Manchester, Management School (UMIST), Manchester, England.

1987-1988 Master of Arts (MA) in Development Economics from Department for Economics at the University of Sussex, Brighton, England.

1982-1984 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the Business College at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, U.S.A.

I have one year of teacher’s training from Philipps-Universitat, Marburg, Germany 

2002-2007 responsible for subject content development of the courses taught in economics and business administration at Bifröst University. I also participated in the development of a master programme.

2000-2002 responsible for subject content development of the courses taught in economics and business administration at Reykavík University. 

1989-1991 responsible for subject content development of the courses taught in economics at the University of Akureyri.
