Elective course, applicable for exchange students and foreign students who wish to learn Norwegian.

Absolutte forkunnskaper

The course builds on Norwegian as a Foreign Language I or equivalent. The student has to have passed the exam in Norwegian as a Foreign Language I or a different Norwegian exam at a similar level in order to qualify for the course in Norwegian as a Foreign Language II.

The student has basic knowledge of oral and written Norwegian.

The student is able to read and write Norwegian texts of different lenghts.

The student has general knowledge of the Norwegian society.

Language instruction. 

Arbeidsomfang

The course will give the student approximately 250-270 hours of work. The student is expected to devote min. 12 - 15 hours per week to self-study.

Arbeidskrav - vilkår for å avlegge eksamen

The course has two obligatory assignments:

1) An individual  written text.

2) An individual oral presentation.

The coursework must be approved before signing up for the final exam.

In addition, 80% compulsory attendance in teaching is a requirement in order to qualify for the exam.

Eksamen

A 4-hour written individual examination.

Permitted aids: a printed dictionary. The students have to choose from:

• Mother tongue-Norwegian-Mother tongue,
• Mother tongue-English-Mother tongue or
• English-Norwegian-English

Grades: A-F.

Sensorordning

External and internal examiner or two internal examiners.

Evaluering av emnet

Student evaluation of teaching will be carried out at the end of the semester.
