The student:

  • has knowledge about digital tools and solutions in health and welfare services

  • has knowledge about how digital tools and solutions affect service receivers and patients

  • has knowledge about ethical aspects of digitalisation in health and welfare contexts

The student:

  • can identify, evaluate and reference relevant literature on possibilities and challenges relating to the use of digital aids, and relate this to a relevant research question

  • can reflect upon social inequality, inclusion and non-discrimination related to digitalisation of health and welfare services

General competence

The student:

  • has knowledge of digital tools and methods relating to digital innovation, implementation and service improvement work at the individual and system level

  • Opportunities and challenges related to digital tools and solutions for patients and service users

  • Innovation and service improvement work

  • Ethical aspects of digitalisation with focus on inclusion, equality and non-discrimination

Undervisnings- og læringsformer

Relevant learning methods: Digital methods like screencast, classroom lectures, group activities and seminars.

Arbeidsomfang

Expected study effort in the course is 130 hours.

Praksis

No practical training/internship in this course.

Arbeidskrav - vilkår for å avlegge eksamen

There are no compulsory activities in this course.

Eksamen

Individual written home exam over 8 days (192 hours)

  • Scope of the assignment: 1,000 words

  • It is optional whether the thesis is written in Norwegian or English

  • All aids are allowed, but it is not permitted to communicate with others about the question paper, or to work on an answer together

  • Grading system: Pass/Fail

Sensorordning

One external and one internal examiner or two internal examiners.
