Innhold
- Introduction; globalisation and the financial sector
- Understanding financial markets: the government securities market, the debt market, the equity market
- Financial intermediaries: the banking sector and nonbanking finance, insurance and pension funds.
- Why and how the financial system is regulated and controlled. International governance - in search for ethical finance?
Undervisnings- og læringsformer
Lectures, group work, presentations, term papers, discussion. Teaching and learning in this course is basically group-centred, with frequent use of web-based information on current problems to be used in cases. Details on teaching and learning are given in a separate note 'Teaching and learning concept in GMI'. The language of instruction is English.
Arbeidskrav - vilkår for å avlegge eksamen
Two group presentations and one individual paper must be submitted and approved before signing up for the final examination.
Eksamen
The term paper counts 50% and a three hours written exam counts 50% of the final evaluation.
