March 10-19: As part of Oslo Internasjonale Teaterfestival, our artistic research fellow Jakob Oredsson will present his work Symbiotic Surfaces (Black Box teater Beings). On March 12, you are also invited to a conversation between him and Hilde Methi at the foayer at Black Box teater in Oslo.

The master program in performance at NTA made it possible for choreographer, dancer and performance artist, Inger-Reidun Olsen to explore and deepen her own work. 

Five individual students from MA in Performance will share part of phase one of their research, in a series of open events this fall.

Artist Petros Lappas was searching for a unique experience. At Norwegian Theatre Academy he found the opportunity and space to experiment.

September 16-18: The first part of NTA research fellow Jakob Oredsson's artistic research project Scenography as Symbiosis will be realized this coming week in Stavanger, Norway. Symbiotic Scenes is a public scenographic work appearing on the gravel plot in front of TOU, Scene 1 and the fjord.

Welcome back! All BA and MA students are now knee deep in workshops together, reconnecting after weeks away from campus during summer. We are looking forward to what this study year will bring!

Some of our bachelor students in both acting and scenography have been working in Oslo this spring, collaborating with Kunsthøgskolen in Oslo’s graduation students at BA in Theatre Directing, and also with students at Operahøgskolen. All performances will be presented for an internal audience, and we send our best from Fredrikstad!

We give our congratulations to NTA artistic research fellow Thomas Talawa Prestø who has been awarded Fylkeskulturprisen 2020 by Viken county municipality! The award is given as a recognition of outstanding cultural work, which has significance for the entire county, or makes Viken known in a positive way nationally or internationally.

June 3-7: BA students in acting and scenography presents four internal performances in spaces at the academy, and one digital live streamed audio performance.

Welcome to artistic research fellow Gunhild Mathea Husvik-Olaussen's digital Viva Voce (dispute) on January 27 at 13:30. In this public event, she will conclude her artistic research project RESPONSIVE SPACE – SOUNDING INTO MATERIALITY by discussion and reflection with the assessment committee. Due to the current situation, the event will be live-streamed via Zoom. The Viva Voce will be held in Norwegian.
