Nicolaj Wamberg and Norwegian Theatre Academy invite you to:

The Waltz of the Big Black Smith - A swinging folk heritage experience between the beats

Friday, May 6
19:30 at Scenehuset in Oslo
Duration: Approx. 75 min.

With a touch of naivety two bodies are waltzing through a landscape of known and unknown material, meeting do’s and dont’s, beats and bars, entering an island of absurdity and playful nonsense inspired from the universes of polka and tralling.

Reversing the hierarchy to dance over music opposite to music over dance, the bodies are passing on resonating traces of cultural heritage that they mirror, accept and confront along their journey.

Performers: Marlene Bonnesen, Nicolaj Wamberg
Scenography and costumes: Nana Andrea Tiefenböck
Mentorship and tutoring: Morten Liene, Janne-Camilla Lyster

Produced by: Norwegian Theatre Academy at Øsfold University College

During spring 2022, the graduating students from MA in Performance will present their final part of their master research work. NTA’s study plan for the MA in Performance research project is organized as a series of public events happening between fall and spring of the second year of the course, organized in two phases, rather than a single final MA production. This spring we will have five phase 2 performances and one phase 1 performance. They will be presented in different locations around Fredrikstad and Oslo, and you are welcome to experience all works for free. See www.hiof.no/nta for more information.
