MA in Scenography student Meria Del Busto presents her final MA production in Fredrikstad.
"Blomstertorget: Sound Journey is a project that investigates public space and the relationship of personal or collective memories that emerge in a specific place such as in the city. What are the memories of a space that the inhabitants of an environment keep? How does the space of the city become a subjective narrative? How can a sound installation activate narratives through poetry and the journey through sound?
In this creative work I am interested in investigating how a sound installation can potentially activate personal memories of inhabitants, visitors, and walkers in a public space. The sound installation is a work specifically constructed to transport participants to other times and spaces that are connected to the place where they are in the present, and to mobilise their own personal memories.
I am an artist who researches and creates with space as my main subject. My work is based on the creation and transformation of experiences in everyday life, activated by creating poetics in unconventional spaces. I am interested in making the experiences promoted by expanded scenography, public and accessible to diverse audiences, where dialogues are made possible around issues of contemporary life."

Welcome to Blomstertorget square, you can take a comfortable position on the grass, listen to the layers of sound of many stories that have happened here, 100 years where the ways of living the city have been transformed.
