This interdisciplinary collection will bring together various academic perspectives on the themes of ruin, regeneration, hope, and despair. Authors will consider the ways in which human experiences of hope and/or despair, ruin and/or regeneration affect the human form and mind, humanity and its socio-political psyche, the environment, climate change, and the Anthropocene. The anthology will be published in 2023 or early 2024. Please see the call for chapters, for a more detailed view of the project.
Of Ruin and Regeneration: Narratives of Hope and Despair (2023-24)
The research group "Litteratur og Narrativitet/Literature and Narrativity” began work on a new project in 2021. The working title is: Of Ruin and Regeneration: Narratives of Hope and Despair. The anthology will be written in English and published with a major international publisher. The editors are Deanna Benjamin, Melanie Duckworth, and Johanna M. Wagner.
