About the Faculty

The Faculty of Teacher Education and Languages is situated in Halden southeast in Norway. We have 215 employees and approximately 2,700 students. In addition, we collaborate with emloyees in nearly 140 kindergartens and schools across the county regarding traning of our students.

The faculty offers studies in languages and teacher educations for kindergarten, primary and secondary school. The faculty is a pioneer in professional digital competence in teacher education, and it offers the Nordic region's only master's related to the youngest children in kindergarten. We also hosts the Norwegian National Center for English and other Foreign Languages in Education.

The faculty's research embraces broadly within language and teacher education. The faculty's academic environments represent the entire university college's focus area Language in Learning, and constitute significant parts of the interdisciplinary focus area The Digital Society.
