Professional interests

Samson's research interest is related to robotics and information security. His PhD project aims to develop a user-centred security framework for social robots operating in public spaces.

Background

Samson holds a bachelor's degree in electrical electronics engineering from the University of Benin, Benin-City, Edo State, Nigeria. He then continued his studies by receiving a master's degree in Information and Communication Engineering from the Covenant University Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria. He works as a doctoral research fellow at Østfold University College and as a doctoral candidate at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). His PhD thesis is "Towards a User-centred Security Framework for Social Robots Operating in Public Spaces". As part of his PhD, he is a member of the Høgskolen I Østfold team, working with four other collaborators, IFE, IRI, SNØ, and Frekridstad Municipality, in the SecuRoPS project. The SecuRoPS project will develop a framework to ensure the safety, security, privacy, and effectiveness of social robots and users interacting with them.
