Norske multinasjonale selskaper investerer aktivt i land der bedriftskulturer og tradisjoner er forskjellige fra tilsvarende i Norge. Et av de sentrale spørsmålene for multinasjonale bedrifter (MNC) er behovet for å etablere nye kontrollsystemer for å sikre innflytelse over datterselskaper i utlandet.

For tourist destinations, the peer-to-peer sharing-economy platform Airbnb is a double-edged sword. It provides income and taxes to municipalities, but the prevalence of a substantial number of Airbnb providers may lead to bottlenecks in rental housing markets. Regional planners and policy-makers in Norway and across the world have therefore begun to consider imposing restrictions to regulate this hitherto unregulated business model.

Birgit Leick, Associate Professor in Business Economics and current leader of the research group Business Development and Governance, was invited to the Austrian Academy of Sciences to present her research on institutional entrepreneurs, demographic change and regional economic development.
Cross-border shopping is a big business in the Svinesund region and contributes to its economic growth. On Monday, 13 May 2019, the research group Business Development and Governance invited to a discussion with Svinesundskommittén Strömstad (Sweden) and the Mayor of Halden. The event was part of a field excursion with urban/regional planning students from Lund University (Sweden).
