Kai Heidemann is Lecturer of Sociology at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. His research merges the study of social movements with the sociology of education and sociolinguistics. Kai is particularly interested in the qualitative and historical analysis of community-based education reform initiatives and the ‘re-purposing’ of public schools by grassroots actors.
Kai is giving an open lecture titled "Social Movements and Media Systems" as part of the Media Studies course in the Bachelor of International Communication at the Department of Information Technology and Communication.
