Interreg North Sea funds The FREIIA project strengthening research and teaching in innovation and entrepreneurship

We are proud to announce that our international venture Facilitating Resilience Embracing Islands Innovation Approaches (FREIIA) for better governance in the North Sea Region is accepted.  It is a 30 million NOK project over three years.

We face major challenges in the coming decades. Innovations are central to these challenges. The common challenge of the project is to create skills, resources, competences & structures that enhance the changes.

Innovation and project management students at HiØ (IPL) will participate in eco-design projects, visit selected places in Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and France, analyse the case´s, choose appropriate methods and run innovative development workshops. Good for research and good for students and good for businesses :-)

Norwegian project manager is IRG's Bjørn Gitle Hauge, and the project is made possible in cooperation with Visit Fredrikstad & Hvaler.

The Innovation research group and  the Innovation and project management program at the institute of engineering were invited to join because of our knowledge, skills and experience in entrepreneurship and student enterprise over more than a decade. The project strengthens our strategic targets supporting student active learning and research-based teaching.
