In order to capture pictures of the Hessdalen phenomena, an advanced camera system is used.
The Eagle Eye camera system consist of 5 Nikon D3s cameras. Four of these are equipped with Nikon 20 mm f/1.8 AF-S Nikkor lenses giving each of them a view of approximately 90º. They are facing north, south, east, and west, thereby providing a 360º view of the surroundings. A Cokin P040 grating is placed in front on the lens to provide a spectrum of the observed lights. The fifth camera is equipped with a Sigma 8 mm Fish Eye lens. This camera is facing upwards, giving a full view of the sky.
A Nikon D5 camera is used to capture films, utilizing its high ISO settings to film during the night.
A modified Nikon D5 camera is used to capture UV-pictures.
