Academic interests
My professional interests are energy, resources and the environment. I have worked with development in the construction industry, bioenergy, agriculture, tourism and local communities.
Courses taught
Currently I teach circular economy at the international master's program for engineers at Østfold University College:
IRMGR40118-1 22H Adapting Technology to the Circular Economy.
Background
In my PhD, I worked on boundary-breaking projects in the Norwegian construction industry, how they were developed, and how they pave the way for more energy-efficient construction practices in line with stricter requirements in technical regulations.
For four years I worked with advice for the Nordic Council of Ministers in smart and renewable energy systems. See Nordic Energy Research www.nordicenergy.org.
A recurring theme in my research work is innovation and restructuring processes in business and local communities.
My master's degree is from NMBU, within resource economics and organizations. This was when the Brundtland Commission's report on Sustainable Development was published, and formed the basis for the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
