About the project

My thesis aims to analyze the potential influence of integrating photovoltaic (PV) technology and energy storage systems (ESS) on the value of current wind power parks. It will evaluate the technical feasibility, economic viability, and overall effectiveness of hybrid Wind-PV-ESS power plants as opposed to standalone wind power parks. The purpose of this investigation is to determine the advantages and constraints of incorporating PV and ESS with wind power plants, and to identify their possible impact on the assets' value.

About the client

The Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) is a research organization based in Norway, dedicated to advancing sustainable energy solutions and promoting nuclear safety. Founded in 1948, the organization conducts research in a wide range of fields including nuclear physics, radiation protection, renewable energy, and energy systems analysis. IFE collaborates with other research institutions and industry partners on projects aimed at developing new technologies and improving existing ones. The organization operates two research facilities in Norway, Halden Reactor and Kjeller Technology Park, where scientists and engineers work to develop innovative solutions for a cleaner and safer energy future.
