Digitalisation in the project New Working Methods in Viken County (DiVi)

DiVi explores the significance of digitalisation in the Viken County project New Working Methods

About the project

DiVi is one of the projects within the research area of priority The Digital Society at Østfold University College that explores different aspects of digitalisation in various sectors of society.

Researchers in DiVi draws attention to the increased use of digitalisation as new working methods are introduced. Through its connection with the project New Working Methods in Viken County the ambition is to develop an understanding of what digitalisation entails and contains.

The project uses qualitative approaches, mainly qualitative semistructured interview methods, which are performed both physically and digitally. Through interviewing DiVi researchers explore the Viken county pilot project, including what new working methods are implemented, the role of digitalisation activities, and experiences with digitalisation in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first phase involves 8 interviews targeting project leaders for each pilot in New Working Methods in Viken County (4 interviews) and leaders participating in working groups within each pilot (4 interviews).

The leaders of the project New Working Methods in Viken County contributes to informing and recruiting other possible participants to DiVi.

In the next phase, a broader exploration of digitalisation in Viken County is planned based on the empirical findings from phase one.

The goals of the project

The overall goal of DiVi is to explore the implications of digitalisation in the project New Working Methods in Viken County. In addition, the corona context is included in the research design. This implies that we study the general experiences and conceptualisations of digitalisation in the project New Working Methods in Viken county, but also how this project is affected by the Corona-19 pandemic.

Cooperation

Divi is accomplished as a cooperation between members of the research group Complex Connections: People, Places and Organizations (CC:PPO) at Østfold University College and the Section of projects and innovations at Viken County.
