He takes over from Steinar Nybøle, who has been leader of the centre for 13 years.
Doetjes comes to the centre from a position at the University in Oslo (UiO) as Associate Professor and Head of Studies - Department of Teacher Education and School Research.
Before starting his position at UiO, Doetjes was employed at the centre from 2007-2015.

New manager at the Centre
The Norwegian National Centre for English and other Foreign Languages in Education welcomes Gerard Doetjes as its new leader.
He begins the fixed-term position on 1 March 2023.
