During the visit to the centre, the ambassador, Dr. Stefan Pehringer, was informed about the work the centre does locally, nationally and internationally to strengthen the role of foreign languages and, among other things, German as a subject.
The visit also gave the ambassador the opportunity to become better acquainted with the German department at HiØ, and studies and research related to German at the Department of Language, Literature and Culture.
The library at HiØ houses the Austrian Library. The ambassador presented several books as an expansion and update of the collection. These books are available nationally by interlibrary loan through libraries across the country.
