You are entitled to leave of absence in connection with pregnancy, adoption and care of a child, cf. the Act relating to Universities and University Colleges. Leave can also be granted in connection with compulsory military service, illness or other weighty circumstances outside your control.
If you have to retake the whole first year of the study programme, you must apply for a reservation of place on the programme until the next round of admission cf. Regulation of Admission to Study Programmes at Østfold University College. In the event of parental leave and compulsory military service, you can also apply for a leave of absence from your studies in the first semester.
If you wish to apply for a leave of absence, please send an application containing the following:
- The basis for the leave of absence
- Period of absence
- Documentation from a doctor or other expert
