The number of exam attempts also applies to courses with an equivalent academic content (for instance, in the case of a course acquiring a new course code). The limit on the number of exam attempts also applies in the event of re-admission to the same programme, as the number of exam attempts is linked to the student, not the admission to a study programme.
You are responsible for registering for a resit or rescheduled exam by the stipulated deadlines:
- 15 September: for the exam in the autumn semester
- 1 March: for the exam in the spring semester

Please note: The Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Health and Welfare have their own deadlines for registering for the exam.
Faculty of Engineering
- 15 May: deadline for resit/rescheduled exam in June. Applies to the third year courses that had their ordinary exams in March.
- 10 July: deadline for resit/rescheduled exam in August for students on preliminary courses, science courses and bioengineering.
Faculty of Health and Social Studies
The deadline for registering for a resit/rescheduled exam is three weeks before the relevant exam.
