The focus is on two variants of English: Received Pronunciation (British English) and American English. Examples of key grammar topics include the analysis of main clauses and subordinate clauses, verb forms, and the relationship between grammar and text. The purpose is, among other things, to demonstrate the connection between grammatical form and meaning. Comparisons are made with Norwegian and other languages to increase awareness of grammatical and phonetic similarities and differences between various languages.
