Knowledge
The student
- has advanced knowledge of linguistic variation in general and linguistic variation in the target language countries specifically, and possesses the necessary conceptual framework for describing this.
- is familiar with various approaches to working with linguistic variation in language learning and has gained an understanding of the role aspects of linguistic variation can play in language teaching at different levels, especially in relation to the linguistic reality existing in the target language areas.
Skills
The student
- can apply their knowledge of linguistic variation in a way that allows them to develop, present, and implement solid, academically grounded teaching plans focused on different aspects of linguistic variation, integrating this naturally into their language teaching.

- can use methods and digital skills to collaborate on the acquisition and presentation of academic and didactic knowledge and on the use of such a foundation in practice.
Content
The course covers linguistic variation in general, with a specific focus on language variation within the target language areas and how aspects of this are addressed in language teaching. It delves into standard language, geographical, and social variation. Additionally, various aspects of multilingualism may be addressed.
Forms of teaching and learning
Throughout the semester, students collaboratively address up to four issues within their workgroups, using collaborative writing tools. This involves producing a corresponding number of smaller academic works. The chosen collaborative writing tool allows for discussion among students directly linked to the text and highlights each student's contribution to the text's composition.

No work requirement in the course.
Examination
Individual Process Assessment:
The individual process assessment is based on contributions to the development of written presentations and activities related to this. Further details are specified in the semester plan.
Grading Scale: A-F.
Examiners
Two internal examiners or one internal and one external examiner.
Conditions for resit/rescheduled exams
If the student does not pass the exam, contributions can be revised once. In the case of an improved grade, the course must be retaken.
Course evaluation
