Content

The course covers central theories of student language and foreign language acquisition. There is a strong emphasis on the analysis of anonymized authentic student texts, which are posted on the learning platform. This analysis is connected to relevant theoretical aspects and perspectives on student language.

Forms of teaching and learning

The course is web-based, and all teaching and guidance take place online. It is assumed that students actively participate in online discussions and conduct practical studies of student language and assessments using the learning platform's tools.

Workload

Approximately. 280 hours.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

Each student is required to submit two substantial texts (oral or written) on the learning platform, where one is of a theoretical nature and the other is of a practical nature. The texts can also be divided into several smaller contributions if the instructor deems it necessary.

Required coursework must be approved before the student can present themselves for the exam.

Examination

Home examination, individual, written. Over four weeks.

Extent: 3800-4200 words.

All aids are allowed, except communication and collaboration with others regarding the answers.

Grading scale: A-F.

Examiners

Two internal examiners or one internal and one external examiner.

Course evaluation

Feedback from our students is essential for us to be able to offer the best possible courses and study programs. The course is evaluated each semester through ongoing and final evaluations.

The results are processed by the head of teaching in dialog with student representatives and subject teachers. The programme committee follows up on student evaluations at the department.
