The student has
- knowledge of basic digital signal processing and cental algorithm in the subject
Skills
The student can handle
- manual and computerized methods for analysis and synthesis of digital signaling systems
- the realization of signal processing algorithms when programming a digital signal processor
General competence
The student knows
- the use of digital signal processors and principles for programming signal processing algorithms
Content
The subject contains two main topics: Signal conditioning and realization of DSP algorithms.
Signal conditioning:
- Differential equations
- Impulse response
- Convolution
- Frequency response (Fourier analysis)
- Z transformation
- Analysis and synthesis of digital filters (FIR, IIR)
- Digital Spectral Analysis (DFT, FFT)
- Analysis of time-continuous signals
- Filter Construction (FIR, IIR)
Realization of DSP algorithms:
- Characteristics of architecture and functionality for digital signal processors (DSP)
- Realization of signal processing algorithms using C Programming
- Practical exercises that include the use of a standard development platform
Forms of teaching and learning
The teaching is conducted as lectures, theoretical exercises and practical assignments in the laboratory.

- Minimum 4 approved laboratory exercises
- Minimum 4 approved assignments
Work requirements will be specified in the education plan and must be approved before the student can attend the exam.
Examination
Individual written exam, 4 hours
Permitted aids: Professional books from the syllabus.
Calculator, with empty memory, that cannot compute symbolically and that cannot be used for wireless communication.
The letters A - F are given, where A is the best grade and F is not passed.
Examiners
One external examiner and one internal examiner or two internal examiners.
