Content

The dissertation is a group work of 2-3 students, on a topic connected with the core subjects of business studies. The selected problem must be relevant for the programme and have a certain degree of originality. Depending on the subject, the dissertation must be 40 - 60 pages and the workload per person is estimated to ca 120h.

Forms of teaching and learning

The students will be given an introduction to the formalities of writing a thesis such as reference systems, data collection, principles of academic writing etc. Each group is given a supervisor. Groups should set up an individual plan for tutoring and consultations with the supervisor. Details are given in 'Guidelines for Bachelor Dissertation' for the 3rd year of International Business Programme at Østfold University College.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

Compulsory methodological instruction. A minimum of four meetings between group and supervisor.

Examination

Dissertation. Grades: A-F.

The students have the right to complain on the grades given on the written examination.

Course evaluation

To improve the course, we need the evaluations from the students. The course is evaluated by the students in the middle and in the end of the semester.

The evaluations from the students are treated by the staff and the comitee for programme quality and internationalization.
