Content

Systematic work with the five language skills: reading, writing, listening, oral production and oral interaction. The students will understand and be able to use basic Spanish orally and in writing and explain grammatical rules and central aspects of the language. The course also gives an introduction to topics related to the Spanish-speaking world, such as daily life, social conditions, geography, culture and traditions.

Forms of teaching and learning

Mainly lectures with extensive oral practice, group work and exercises. Both Spanish and Norwegian are used.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

  • A minimum of 80% attendance. Failure to meet with this requirement calls for a written application to be exempt.
  • One written assignment

Coursework must be submitted and approved before a student may take the final exam.

Examination

A 5-hour written exam. Permitted aids: Spanish-Spanish dictionary. Assessment is given on the A-F grading scale.
