Obligatory in the one-year programme in French (1st semester).

Obligatory in the degree programme International Communication when French is chosen as the second foreign language (5th semester).

Optional course in the degree programme Society, Language and Culture (either 1st, 3rd or 5th semester).

Prerequisites

None, but basic knowledge of the language is recommended.

Content

Effective communication is practiced in authentic situations such as telephone conversations. Further, the students practice how to present various topics, use ICT tools, understand authentic texts and speech, and how to react correctly from a linguistic and cultural perspective.

Forms of teaching and learning

Lectures, group work, exercises and self study. The course is taught in French.

Practical training/internship

None.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

Participation in oral presentations and seminars is a requirement for taking the final examination. This requirement also pertains to distance students. The coursework must be submitted and approved by the given deadlines.

Examination

Individual oral examination of approx. 30-35 minutes, in which the candidate's oral comprehension and ability to produce oral text are tested. Grading scale: A-F.

Relevant oral texts and other material will be published on Blackboard.
