The course is connected to the following study programs

The course is one of two specialisation options in the bachelor programme International Communication. The course is one half of a 30 ECTS specialisation and must be studied in conjunction with SFB52307 Bachelor Dissertation Norway from a European Perspective (15 ECTS credits). SFB52107 is studied in the 5th semester.

Prerequisites

The specialisation course builds on the knowledge acquired in the two first years of the degree programme.

  • Norwegian business and industry and Norwegian organisations from a European perspective
  • EEA and EU
  • Rules, legislation
  • International issues related to global trade
  • Norwegian businesses in Europe
  • European investments in Norway
  • Trade and communication between the EU and Norway
  • Methodology related to the bachelor dissertation including choice and limitation of topic/problem statement

A regional perspective is taken with a focus on firms that direct an important part of their activities towards Europe, e.g. export bussinesses.

Forms of teaching and learning

Seminars, lectures and individual tutorials. ICT tools are used actively. The course is taught in Norwegian.

Practical training/internship

None.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

Two written presentations are to be submitted on issues and method related to the bachelor dissertation. The topic of the dissertation must be approved by the end of the 5th semester.

 

The coursework must be approved before taking the examination.

Examination

The examination consists of an oral presentation of approx. 25 minutes on an issue chosen by the course instructor. Grading scale: A-F. No aids permitted.
