Knowledge

The student is familiar with:

  • standard techniques for organising and managing projects
  • planning and estimating project resources
  • risk management and quality assurance of projects

Skills

The student can:

  • contribute to planning and implementing a project
  • use methods to estimate and plan the use of resources in a project
  • explain the project process
  • present projects for internal and external actors

General competence

The student has knowledge and experience of different ways of organising projects and experience that can be used in project management.

  • Composition of project groups

Forms of teaching and learning

Lectures, project work and tutorials.

Workload

Approx. 240 hours.

Up to 4 hours of lectures and 2 hours laboratory per week.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

  • Attendance at at least 6 guest lectures
  • 10 submissions (one of which is a post-project analysis)

The coursework requirements must be approved before students may sit the exam.

Examination

Project and oral exam in groups

The exam consists of two components.

Group project
Grades are awarded individually on the basis of pass or fail.

Students must achieve a pass grade for the project before they may take the oral exam.

Oral exam in groups lasting approximately 20?30 minutes
The oral exam is linked to the project and is a pitch of the project.
No support materials permitted.

A final overall individual grade is awarded, grading scale of A-F.

Examiners

The exam is assessed by the course instructor and an internal or external examiner.

Conditions for resit/rescheduled exams

Students must take both exam components in the case of resit exams. The project must be discussed with the course instructor in the case of resit exams or rescheduled exams.

Course evaluation

This course is evaluated by a

  • Mid-term evaluation (compulsory)

The responsible for the course compiles a report based on the feedback from the students and his/her own experience with the course. The report is discussed by the study quality committee of the faculty of Computer Sciences.
