Lecture Semester
Semester 1 (autumn)
At the start of the semester, students will attend classes in the first two modules in the course Basic IT.

Knowledge
On completion of the course, the students can:
- explain what digital media and digital media production are
- explain how key tools for digital media production work and are used for communication
Skills
On completion of the course, the students can:
- use common tools for digital media production for communication purposes
General competence
On completion of the course, the students:
- are familiar with some features of media development and why there is a need for digital media producers in the future

Forms of teaching and learning
Seminars, lectures and individual assignments. Working methods will be practical and independent.
Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam
An assignment to create a website using HTML5 and CSS. Submission deadlines are set by the course instructor.
The coursework requirements must be approved before students may sit exams.
Examination
Media production in groups
The students must undertake a media production. This is done in groups.
A letter grade (A?F) will be awarded to the group.
Resit exams and rescheduled exams must be taken in conjunction with the next ordinary course.
Course evaluation
This course is evaluated as follows:
- Mid-semester evaluation (optional)
- Final evaluation (compulsory)
The course instructor prepares a course report on the basis of student feedback and on his/her own experiences of the course. Course reports are discussed with the Committee for Study Quality at the Faculty of Computer Sciences.
