Content

The course is to be a solid implementation of the mainstream curriculum for HCI. The starting point is user-centered design, on top of which various techniques to realize a structured and well-documented process will be examined. The course covers interaction paradigms, frameworks and styles, design of the development process, various forms of field work, design methods and principles, interaction design models, testing and evaluation, human perception regarding color, sound and touch, as well as the interface components that are available in current and future technologies.

Forms of teaching and learning

Lectures will be given, supplemented by group and individual work. The students are expected to be actively contributing, presenting their own work and lecturing selected topics.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

Two mandatory exercises have to be completed. In connection with the lectures, the students shall contribute to the presentations and
the discussions and  act as users/evaluators.

Examination

A four hour individual written exam without aids. 
Assessment on the A - F grading scale.
