Content

  • The tasks and functions of operating systems.
  • The operating systems Linux and Windows.
  • The program language C/C++.
  • Processes and threads. Synchronizing. Interprocess communication.
  • Operating systems applied in embedded systems.

Forms of teaching and learning

Lectures, exercises and a project work, 4 hours of lectures per week.

Coursework requirements - conditions for taking the exam

The Windows module: 5 exercises and one project are mandatory, and must be approved before the final exam.

Examination

Written exam
4 hours written exam. Scale A-F.

Permitted aids:
- Three A4-papers (six pages) with the student's own notes.
- The textbook "A Practical guide to Red Hat Linux".

Literature
