The student's learning outcomes after completing the course

Knowledge:

The student has

  • theoretical and practical knowledge in relation to what has influence on service development within public and private sector. 

Skill:

The student can

  • carry out a practical project
  • demonstrate ability to independently and critically assess the application of knowledge in the subject 

General competence:

The student can

  • critically evaluate his/her own and others service development projects 
  • demonstrate understanding concerning the challenges faced during implementation of service development projects

Content

The students learn different service development methods and how to use this knowledge during the development of a service. The students get thorough knowledge in relation to what conditions affect the service development process. 

Service development deals with the tight co-play between customers, marked and developer, and for students it is important to understand this co-play and how to influence it.

Lectures, guest lectures, supervision and practical project work.

Examination

Submission of a group work and a written eksam:

  1. A written project work report make up 50% of the grade
  1. A final 4-hour individual examination constitute 50% of the grade. The written exam can be given as an electronic examination. No materials or electronic devices shall be used or viewed during the examination.

An overall individual grade from A to F is given based on the group report and the written exam. Individual grades can be given to the different group members regarding their written group report. In the case of a new or postponed examination, the candidate must submit a new written project report and take a new written exam. A new or postphoned examination is held at the next regular exam. In case of a complain, both the written project work report and the written exam are reconsidered.

Course evaluation

A written final evaluation of the course.

Literature

Changes in the literature must be expected due to developments in the subject. Therefore new literature can replace older literature.
