Fredrikstad Student Society (FSS) is the student welfare organization in Fredrikstad. FSS is the link between Studentsamskipnaden i Østfold (SiØ) and the students, and is responsible for the distribution of cultural resources. All students are automatically members of FSS.
FSS's main task is to facilitate that the students at HiØ have a variety of activity offers in addition to their studies. This is done through different events, after the guidelines given by SiØ.
Student bar Kranen SFO
Kranen SFO is located in a venue at Værste near the campus. The student bar was built in its entirety by students themselves in 2012. All events and activities are based on voluntary efforts from students, where activities such as parties, concerts and quizzes are arranged. The venue stretches over 300 square meters, and includes, among other things, a dance floor, stage, pool table, 12 meter bar counter, and pleasant seating areas. The student bar can also be rented for those who want to arrange their own parties.
