Summary: This book is set in the USA in the late 1940s and tells the story of the black baseball player Jackie Robinson, a star player in the Negro Leagues, and how he became the first black player to play for a white Major League Team. He had to face hostility and abuse, like not being allowed to stay at the same hotels as the white players, but Jackie did not give up. In the end, one of the star white players declares Jackie as his teammate and refuses to sign a petition to throw Jackie off the team. In addition to the use of nostalgic watercolours, the book also includes historical pictures.
