Summary: This book tells the story of a lion who one day walks into the library and wants to join story hour. The head librarian, Miss Merriweather, is very concerned about rules in the library. Since there are no particular rules about lions in the library, the lion is allowed to stay. The lion seems to be very well suited for work in the library like dusting the books with his tail, carrying books in a basket and licking envelopes. One day, Miss Merriweather falls down from a step stool and breaks her arm. The lion runs for help and he roars the loudest roar he has ever roared in his life. Consequently, he has broken the rules and must leave the library. But, perhaps the rules can be changed?
