Summary: This book tells the story of Floss, a Border collie sheepdog who has to move from the city to the farm of her owner’s son. Here, Floss is trained to round up the sheep. It is hard work, and Floss dreams of playing ball with the children in the park. On one occasion, Floss forgets her duties when she sees the children on the farm playing with a ball, and she runs away from the sheep to join them. Consequently, the sheep starts drifting away, and the farmer takes Floss back to the dog house and locks her up. In the end, the farmer realizes that both play and work are important to make Floss a good sheepdog.
