Summary: This is the story about Grace, a young black girl, who loves listening to and reading stories. But, she does not stop there; she acts out the stories, like Anansi the Spiderman, Hiawatha sitting by the shining Big-Sea-Water, Mowgli in the jungle, to mention a few. One day at school, the teacher announces that the students are going to play Peter Pan, and Grace wants to take the leading role. However, her friends say she can’t, because Peter Pan was neither a girl nor black. But Grace does not give in; encouraged by her family, she practices a lot for the audition. She performs so well that all her classmates vote for her. The illustrations are colourful and expressive.
