Rosie's Walk

Connections to the Curriculum in EnglishThis is a classic book of child culture. The story is told in a humorous way and may encourage young learners to join in reading. Furthermore, the fact that this book tells the story of the hen and does not mention the fox at all can help young learners developing their oral and writing skills telling the story of the fox by using the illustrations as support.

Summary: Rosie, the hen goes for a walk, but she does not discover the sneaky fox following her. However, the fox has bad luck; he falls into the pond, he stumbles into the hay stack, and, finally, when walking past the beehives, the bees comes after him. So, Rosie comes safely back to the hen house in time for dinner. This is a nearly wordless story, and not a word is mentioned bout the fox; it’s the illustrations that tell his story.
