I work as an assistant professor of English at Østfold University College in Norway and have worked here since 2007. I am also a PhD candidate at the University of Oslo, and my research area is the use of digital skills in the English classroom. I started working with primary education for adults in Sarpsborg, and moved on to teaching English in Upper Secondary. I work with teacher education, both in-service teachers as well as post graduate certificate in Education (PPU). In my work, on every level, I have seen the joy and insight the use of picture books can add to the teaching of English, something which I find the pleasure of sharing with fellow teachers and educators.

I work as associate professor of English linguistics and didactics at Østfold University College in Norway. Before that, I had many years of experience as an English teacher in primary, lower secondary and upper secondary school. In 2002, I started working at Østfold University College, and since then, my major responsibilities have been connected to in-service training and continuing education of English teachers. My main interests centre on professional development of English teachers, curriculum theory, course design, bridging theory and practice in addition to different aspects of English didactics, such as oral communication, vocabulary and picture books.

The idea of creating a website with picturebooks for English teachers has been a dream of mine for years. Together with my close and trusted colleagues, Astrid and Kathrine, this idea has finally become a reality.

I work as an assistant professor of English at Østfold University College in Norway and I have worked here since 2018. Before that, I was a teacher in lower secondary for fourteen years. My main interest is English didactics and especially the use of literature in the classroom and development of oral proficiency. My main responsibilities are connected to teacher education as well as in-service teachers. I have experienced how the use of picture books can generate motivation, communication, engagement and learning in the language learning classroom and I believe that it is a valuable resource for every English teacher.
