Connect to home and common share / storage area
From PC
You can connect to your home and common share/storage area both when you are on the University College network and when you are at home, traveling etc.
If you are not at the University College campus, you must connect to our network via VPN before continuing with this guide!
Students can connect to their home storage area here: \\ls02.hiof.no\HomeS\brukernavn
Students can connect to their common storage area here: \\ls02.hiof.no\FellesS
When connecting to these shares / storage areas, connect using username@hiof.no and your FEIDE login.
From Mac

Start Finder, and then Go > Connect to server (Koble til tjener in Norwegian)
- First time:
- Enter home storage area address: smb://ls02.hiof.no/HomeS/username
- Click ”+” button to save address for later
- Enter common storage area address: smb://ls02.hiof.no/FellesS
- Click ”+” button to save address for later
- Mark which storage area you want to connect to in the list
- Click Connect
- Enter username@hiof.no and your FEIDE password
- Later
- Mark which storage area you want to connect to in the list
- Click Connect
- Enter username@hiof.no and your FEIDE password
