Installation of print queue

If you want access to all the features on the CANON printers, the right CANON driver must be installed.

The driver is downloaded from CANON support site. Select the one called "UFR II/UFRII LT Printer Driver & Utilities for Macintosh V...".

1. Double click the downloaded installation package
2. Install the driver according to the instructions given

After the driver installation is done, you can install the print queue.

1. Click on the Apple symbol on the top, left-hand corner. Then, click System Preferences.
2. Click on the Printers & Scanners icon.
3. Click the plus “+” sign to add the new printer..
4. Right click on the grey toolbar and select 'Customize Toolbar'.
5. Drag the icon called Advanced up onto your toolbar.
6. Click on 'Adansed'-icon. Fill in the following information:
   Type: Windows printer via spoolss
   Device: Another device
   URL:
   smb://h-rps.hiof.no/uniFLOW_Ps (for Halden)
   smb://f-rps.hiof.no/uniFLOW_Ps (for Fredrikstad)
   
   Name: uniFLOW_PS
   Location: Everywhere

   Use: Click "Choose a driver" and search for 5250
   Select "Canon iR-ADV C5250/5255" in the list, and click OK

7. Checkmark Cassette Feeding Unit, Paper Deck Unit, Inner finnisher additional Tray and Copy Tray

8. Select Output Option: Inner Finnisher E

The first time you print, the printer will ask for your username and password. If you change your password, and the old password is saved on your Keychain, you need to either delete the or edit the password in Keychain Access (read more below). Some Macs may want to restart before printing for the first time after installation. This makes the printout being "stuck" or paused in the print queue and it does not help to press Continue. If this happens, delete the printout from the print queue and restart your mac

Your username is username@hiof.no, and the password your FEIDE password.

NB!

The printer automatically detects if you have a color or black and white printout. If you do not want color printing, you can change this on the printer by selecting your printout in the list and press Options. Change to Black and White and save before printing. Under options you can also change other settings such as number of copies, duplex printing, stapling, etc.

Have you changed your FEIDE password?

Start Keychain Access (Nøkkelringtilgang(NOR), Schlüsselbundverwaltung (TYSK)), and find uniFLOW_PS under "All items" ("Alle objekter", "Alle Objekte"). Doble click uniFLOW_PS.
Select "Show password" ("Vis passord", "Kennwort einblenden"), and enter you Mac username and password.
Change the password and click "Save changes" ("Arkiver endringer", "Änderungen sichern").
Empty your print queue and restart your Mac.
