TDS-seminar: Person, thing, robot? (w/David Gunkel)

What is the moral and legal status of machines? Are they mere "things", could they be "persons", or are they something else? These are the questions explored in David Gunkel's new book "Person, thing, robot: A Moral and Legal Ontology for the 21st Century and Beyond". Join us as Gunkel visits Halden for a lecture and discussion over these topics of great relevance for the digital society!

The lecture starts at 11:00, and will be followed by a brief break with refreshments. Following this, scholars from Østfold University College will take part in an academic discussion of the moral and legal status of robots and other machines, and we'll take questions from the audience.
