A School for the Knowledge Society: Knowledge Development for the 5-Year Teacher Education (2015-2019)

This priority area received funding from 2015 to June 2019.

The knowledge society of today expects much of future teachers, and these expectations demand research-based and professionally oriented primary school teacher educations. The superior goal for this priority area is to contribute with research which will prepare and strengthen the new primary school teacher educations. The priority area includes researchers from several faculties: the Faculty of Teacher Education, the Faculty of Economy, Languages and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Information Technology.

The main problem at hand for the priority area is: How can subjects, subject didactics, pedagogy, professional and research orientation contribute to strengthening knowledge development in school and primary school teacher education?
