Parking routines

Parking students

Parking is free for students and staff in the large areas to the north. There is also a sign for temporary spare spaces on the opposite side of the BRA road.

Electric cars

IMPORTANT! The parking cards for the electric car spaces are green and are allocated at the Service Square on the Halden campus. Note that in order to obtain a parking card for electric car spaces, the distance between your home and your place of study must be at least 20 kilometres (one way).

Parking for a fee

There is also a fee-based area at the far south, especially to ensure free space for guests, but it is otherwise open to everyone for NOK 10 per hour.

Parking for employees (with parking card)

There are spaces reserved to the south for employees with a red or yellow card. Cards should always be visible through the windshield.

Parking for HC users

For HC users, there are marked spaces in front of the main entrance. A valid HC card must be displayed.

Fine for incorrect parking

In order to ensure tidy parking without confinement and damaged green spaces, it has proved absolutely necessary to have checks of correct parking, i.e. ALL WHEELS WITHIN THE 2 STRIPES ON MARKED SPACES.

Incorrect parking or failure to display a reserved card or ticket will result in a fine, currently of NOK 500, which accrues to the municipality's parking agency for the operation of their inspection tasks, not to HiØ. In extreme cases of incorrect parking, a vehicle may be removed without notice, at the vehicle owner's expense.
All the instructions and conditions are set out clearly on signs displayed in the relevant areas.
