The use of other application forms or e-mail applications will not be accepted.
Applicants must have a degree/diploma based on 3-4 years university-level education in the field of Computer Science, Informatics and/or Information Technology, with results above the average level according to the national grade system. A very good command of the English language is also required, either through the IELTS-test (minimum 6.0 points) or the TOFEL-test (minimum 550/Paper-test or 213/Computer-test or 80/Internet-test).
Applications will be handled by the Admissions Office and the result will be published by individual e-mails to all applicants approx 1. April 2012. The admission is limited to max. 10-15 international students. All applicants will be notified about the result by e-mail.
The selection of new students meeting the minimum requirements stated above, will be based on the following priorities:
1st priority: Applicants from Østfold University College`s partner insitutions abroad.
2nd priority: All other applicants. A minimum of 70-75 % of the new students will be selceted on the basis of the results/grades achieved in the qualifying higher education and the English language test. A maximum of 20-25 % of the new students may be selected individually by the admissions committee on the basis of home-country/region/university or gender.
Please consult the information at the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI). The formal matters concerning residence permit are the sole responsibility of the applicant. Only when and if you are admitted to the programme, and after having accepted the admission, you can apply for residence permit at the Norwegian Embassy in your home country. Østfold University College will provide the necessary documents regarding admission to studies.
There is no tuition fee at Østfold University College, however there is a small semester fee of approx. 1 200 NOK (200 USD) per year. Students who are not eligible for the quota scheme (see below) must be ensured subsistence for the period of studies of approx. 90 000 NOK for each academic year.
